Communications Officer I (Click Here to Apply)

The Communications Officer I is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the EMA/CSEPP communications system. This includes the county wide 800 MHz radio system, the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Advisor Alert Radios (AARs), warning sirens, and telephone system. Other duties include programing and troubleshooting 800 MHz hand held and portable radios, training personnel in proper use and operation of the radios, and coordinating with local amateur radio operators. The Communications Officer I is also required to perform any duties assigned by supervision. This is a first shift position.

Applicants must have a strong background in all Microsoft Office products, and experience in a networked computer environment. This position also requires strong writing, communications, and interpersonal skills. A background in EMA, CSEPP, and ICS preferred. Applicant must be detailed oriented, a team player, and willing to work in a team oriented environment. 

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in communications systems, maintenance, installation and repairs.
