Parts and Services Manager (Click here to apply)


Work is performed under the general supervision of the Road Department Supervisor and Road Administrator. Position requires light and moderate physical labor. Position requires organization of service work and parts purchase and inventory. Responsible for the service activities and support to all garage employees and provide necessary documentation for administrative staff and management.

  • Have the ability to organize service work, create accurate computer repair order tickets and distribute prioritized work to mechanics on a daily basis.
  • Have the ability to order parts requested from mechanics in a timely manner. Keep accurate purchase order and receipts for all parts purchased and transfer all parts to repair orders or inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient garage facility free of hazards and OSHA violations
  • Set up and maintain an organized parts inventory system with all parts being on software inventory system that categorizes the location and availability of parts.
  • The ability to work with all county agencies involved with the county wide fleet maintenance program and schedule work and completes the service process with each agency while maintaining a good working relationship.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all parts vendors to purchase all parts for the best interest of the county without bias or personal preference.
  • Maintain a good positive and open working relationship with road department office manager and provide the necessary documentation for purchases and billing information for all vendors and county offices.
  • Follow all County and Road Department policy and procedures and keep an open and cooperating dialog with all road department foreman and administrative staff. Be willing for positive change and head to improve both service and parts departments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Through knowledge and experience in the automotive repair industry, employee management and prior supervisory skills. Be capable of maintaining records and purchasing parts in the most efficient methods for the benefit of the counties. Have general knowledge of human resources and employee relations.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and extensive management and supervisory experience.

The Madison County Fiscal Court's Road Department is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator. Minimum requirements are:

  • Must have up to date medical card
  • Possess Class B CDL driver's license
  • Good driving record
  • Prior experience running heavy equipment including but not limited to: a backhoe, trackhoe, loader, grader, and dumptruck



Madison County Government Internship Opportunity (Summer and Fall 2018 Sessions)-(Click here to apply)

The Madison County Fiscal Court (MCFC) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of county government.  The MCFC is seeking talented undergraduate and graduate students for the Summer 2018 and Fall 2018 internship sessions. The schedule is flexible including the start and end date as well as the days of the week. It is required the student make a commitment of at least 12 hours a week. Summer sessions runs from May 21-August 10,  2018 and the Fall semester runs from August 20-December 15, 2018.  The internship is non-paid but may count toward college credit, pending school approval.

Students from all areas of study are welcome to apply. This session’s internship areas will focus on the following areas of study:

  • Public Administration
  • Communications/Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Risk Management
  • Fire Administration

We will consider applicants on a rolling basis up until the Drop/Add period for classes.
